New Technology could Revolutionize Helmet Design
American company 6D Helmets has unveiled a new technology - the Omni-Directional Suspension (ODS) system. This technology features a “fully active, in-helmet suspension and kinetic energy management system” and has a suspended dual-liner assembly.
The heart and soul of this technology comes from the elastomeric isolation damper. 27 of these hourglass shaped dampers are placed within the helmet and work in unison with the dual EPS liners to isolate impact energy from the rider’s brain.
