ICON Helmet Recall

Posted On : 21-04-2018

ICON will be recalling some of their Alliance and Alliance GT helmets produced in 2017. The potentially affected helmets are the Alliance Dark, the Alliance GT Horror and Rubatone helmets, and will apply to all sizes of the helmets.

The reason for this recall is because the mentioned helmets may contain a defect related to motorcycle safety. ICON stated that “the D-rings that are sewn to the webbing of the retention system of some helmets may detach from the webbing due to faulty stitching.” This means the rider may not have the adequate protection if he crashes his bike, and this may increase the risk of injury or even death.

Affected owners of these helmets will have to fill in the Helmet Recall Form given by ICON and they will then receive an email with more details. They will also be provided a free replacement helmet of the same model and style.
